Elements to be considered in a Corporate Letterhead Design

The letterhead forms the image of a company in the corporate world. It is as important as the logo. It should be designed in such a way that it reflects the personality of the company. It’s your company’s first impression to someone. Therefore you should be very careful while designing it.

The elements that should be included in the design of a corporate letterhead are as follows:-

• Firstly if your company has a logo then it should definitely be used in the letterhead because a company’s logo represents the image of the company in the outer world. But if you don’t have one then please do consider getting a logo designed soon.

• Now decide on the colors that you would like to use in the letterhead. Remember that the color combinations that you select will create your company’s identity.

• Select a typeface that you want to use for your company name. It should match your company’s image. Use a different typeface for other content on the letterhead. Try not to use more than two typefaces in a single letterhead.

• Now make a note of the details that you need to print on the letterhead like your company’s address, phone nos., e-mail id etc. If your company has a slogan then you can also include it in the list. A good slogan will inform the public about your company’s profile, its nature of business etc.

• Now finally you have to decide on the type of paper that you would like to use for the letterhead. Keep in mind the weight, finish and color of the paper that you select will affect the image if your company. If you select a particular paper for your letterhead, then try to use the same thing for your envelopes and business cards as well. This will certainly build the overall consistency of your company’s image.

• Do not include any unnecessary information in the letterhead. Try to keep it as simple and sophisticated as possible. There should be enough place write the letter as well.
